Janeen Williamson is the Senior Communications Consultant for the Global Opportunity Youth Network at the Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions. 

Prior to joining AFCS and GOYN, Janeen’s earlier career included working with nonprofits such as Southern Poverty Law Center and media organizations including NPR and The Atlantic to help them reach new and diverse audiences through strategic communication plans and digital strategy. Her strategies have helped organizations continue fighting inequity, supporting democracy, and driving change in their communities. Specifically, she has helped organizations ensure they are being intentional about their actions and commitment, messaging, and brand strategy to clearly reflect their values and mission from the inside out. Janeen is passionate about facilitating dialogue, gathering input and research, sharing measurable insights, and creating actionable plans for long-term impact and success.

Janeen has a B.A. in Communications with a focus on Media Studies from Northeastern University. She currently lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with her two sons, Joshua and Isaiah.
