Gabriela Marma-Gutierrez

The Aspen Institute - Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN) Program Associate

Gabriela Marma-Gutierrez is the Program Associate for the Global Opportunity Youth Network at the Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions, where she provides communications and programmatic support.

Gabriela is originally from El Salvador but grew up across Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia. Her upbringing inspired her interest to pursue a career in international development. Throughout her seven years in Washington D.C. she has worked for various non-profits, thinks tanks, and government agencies with a focus on strengthening global democratic institutions and promoting private-sector engagement.

Gabriela earned a Bachelor’s degree, with honours, in Strategy and International Security and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Exeter, and a Master’s in Foreign Service, with distinction, from Georgetown University. She has an interest in locally-led development and is committed to collaborating across sectors to create sustainable solutions and is particularly interested in helping communities that are traditionally marginalized.
