GOYN Bogotá: Implications of AI-driven digitization and automation in post-media education in Colombia (September 2025 | Spanish)

This report, developed through a collaboration between Universidad de los Andes, Fundación Corona, and GOYN Bogotá, qualitatively examines the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for postsecondary education in Colombia. The study combined a documentary review of academic literature, institutional and global reports, and press articles with a qualitative case study based on 12 semi-structured interviews with education leaders, trainers, policymakers, and EdTech representatives.
Findings reveal that AI is driving a reconfiguration of curricula, new institutional strategies, and evolving definitions of labor competencies. At the same time, it is generating tensions, diverse beliefs, and social concerns about its integration into education. Interviews highlighted both opportunities, such as lifelong learning pathways, reskilling and upskilling initiatives, and flexible training programs, and risks, including inequality, ethical challenges, and overdependence on market-driven agendas. The report emphasizes the need to strengthen durable skills, continuous learning, and ethical AI use, while integrating gender and rural perspectives to ensure inclusive and equitable transformation. Ultimately, AI is reshaping how Colombian postsecondary institutions design, deliver, and govern education, underscoring the urgency of policies and practices that align technological innovation with social equity.
