Daisy Chesang
Global Development Incubator Senior Associate, Africa
Daisy Chesang is a Senior Associate at GDI Africa, specializing in program management and innovation strategies across entrepreneurship, startup development, livelihood, and the creative economy. She has a strong track record of designing and operationalizing initiatives that drive systemic and scalable impact.
At GDI Africa, Daisy supports the Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN) and Circular Economy initiatives, contributing to project management, research, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. She brings expertise in data-driven analysis, strategic thinking, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Previously, Daisy served as the lead consultant for Creative Pathway for GOYN Mombasa, where she led initiatives to expand youth participation in the creative sector. Her work included mobilizing resources to unlock youth employment opportunities, supporting training and job placement for women and youth, contributing to the development of the government policy, and representing the sector committee within the UNESCO–Heritopolis Consortium.
Before joining GDI Africa, she led and supported donor-funded innovation programs at Metta Nairobi, Nest Group Africa, and Bloom Consulting. While also supporting investor research and mapping across Kenya, Uganda, DRC, and Tanzania for different sectors through reports launched under Hivos East Africa, the British Council, and Early Bird Ventures separately. Daisy continues to volunteer, mentor, and support idea developments for startups in Africa.
